Batik Tone on Tone Mottle Coordinates.

Beautifully balanced tone on tone fabrics to go with every project. There are over 100 different colors to choose from. We keep in stock the same colors all year round and add new colors a few times a year. 

Two to three shades of the one dye color are mixed together to make a lovely mottle effect which are rich in color. They will add vibrancy to any quilt or project.  

 Planning a quilt ? We recommend you order all fabric you require for your project at the one time. This is because batiks are hand dyed and mixed. The dye lots can vary from roll to roll. 

Our batiks are made in Indonesia in Java and Bali by batik artisans. We source them from Australian Wholesalers and also directly from manufacturers in Java.  The fabric is finely woven 100% cotton (130 x70 40s cotton) suitable for hand stamping with wax and dyeing. It is all hand made so irregularities in stamping and dyeing are common which is part of the reason why we love batiks. Since they are finely woven they do not fray as much when cut, making them eminently suitable for applique and patchwork and quilting. Since they are washed multiple times in the manufacturing process, shrinkage is minimal.
